I watched 5 Jean Rollin films over the last two weeks (listed above in the order I watched them). The dialogue is sparse, the soundtracks are excellent, and some of the shots are really beautiful. Oh, and there's naked women too.
While he's best known for the vampire movies, my favorite is The Iron Rose, a melancholy horror movie with a seductive soundtrack. It's part love story, part macabre unraveling that never gives the audience too much. It is confusing and alluring.
